The wholesale solid shampoo bars that we make are made with Sodium Coco Sulfate (SCS) a gentler, a more whole food coconut version option that is SLS free. Sodium Coco sulfate shampoo bars are made from the whole coconut oil, better balanced , longer fatty acid chains that have a larger particle size so it doesn't get into your skin and cause irritation like SLS bars do on sensitive individuals. SLS shampoo bars have incomplete fatty acid chains and are more alkaline, this allows it to strip oils and its primary use is for degreasers such as floor cleaners. Stripping oils from your hair and scalp makes the shampoo harsh and drying. You need an optimal balance of fats from natural oils in your shampoo so you don't end up with a deficit that causes your hair to dry and your scalp to itch. This is why we chose Sodium Coco Sulfate over SLS for shampoo.
